As Energy Bending Is Derived from Chi, we can understand that you need to be able to SUMMON AND CONTROL CHI. Therefor like I said on the actual Sub Element Rath Site, If you are not on the 10TH Lesson of any Element (Water, Air, Earth, Fire) Please go back to 4elementrath.
It is a highly dangerous element, so please be very very careful with it! You can actually drain someone's energy if used for bad things you will be punished.
However if you put your head to it you can do ANYTHING!
